I'm not sure on the history or expectation of this but for me it didn't feel sincere, yes it's on a huge scale and I'm not sure that the huge scale is even a drop in the ocean for the impacted on the Jewish community, families and livelihood that they all endured during the war and the experiences of death and torture that were a result of a now changed nation of Germany.
It's not exactly the most moving memorial is it, think they did not exactly get it quite right. When we were there, their were heaps of kids running about all over it, it's not really the right set up to encourage people to sit and reflect.
