Castle of the day!

Today's tour is if the castles of king Ludwig II, the fairytale king, he lived to he was 40yrs, was gay (not publicly) he became eccentric and in the last years of his life slept during the day and came out at night, he had male visitors and was found dead in the lake with his doctor, no answer on what was cause of the deaths, one for csi!

Ross was RIGHT

So on the bus and just looked down and have realized have left my rings on the sink in the hotel room, fingers crossed will still be there when I get back tonight!

For those trying to keep up, Ross asked me to leave my wedding rings and bands at home just Incase! Lucky I listened, have been wearing my 21st rings instead.

Tour to the royal castles

Bavarian castle tour, it's a big your day 10 hour plus! So far have been told about the appropriate bus toilet use! Loving the tour guide she is hilarious, spade is a spade, can drink beer for 1.50 euro could end in tears!

Too much beer.....

The lesson I have learnt today is....if you are going to drink beer by the litre ensure a toilet is close by! Otherwise you (and you know I mean me!!) will end up shuffling down the streets of Munich, slightly refreshed, trying to remember where the hotel is to try and avoid wetting your pants!!

The one thing I didn't think to do was to practice drinking beer and find the limit before an emergency toilet stop is needed.

So Dubai was grand, huge and top of the Accom budget, so for a third of the price gets u 1/3 of the size, yes that's the cooling system, which u have to request, it's quiet, I'm at the back of the hotel which is great, watching either CNN or bcc as I update the blog as its the only thing in english.

How I met your mother, is not so funny in German!

Staff are friendly and helpful and follow up requests in a timely manner, not the same in Dubai, take away pizza already cooked and asking for a slice takeaway took 15min.

Beer and schinitzel

So when in Germany, Munich the first meal has to be schinitzel and nothing like washing it down with a hugh beer!

It's hot here, 30 degrees and still no breeze, I've had a nap in my hotel after the flight from Dubai, the room is a lot different to Dubai but close to everything which is what I was after.

Not so glamourous

Well it's morning, hints and tips are traveling is not so glamourous, do not shop in Dubai until midnight knowing u have a 5am pick up for a 8:35 am international flight. Don't wash your clothes in your hotel room leave for the day/night to find at midnight they are still wet! Do then start to hairdryer and iron your wet clothes until 1am, pack and pass out with exhaustion, hit snooze for your 4am alarm to the realize it's now 5am, no time for shower, room ph calls and says the hotel transfer is early and ready to pick me up, to then take off pj's shove in suitcase, throw in clothes do quick check if the room and out in 5min total, this is how you get the look I have for today!!

The bus?!?!?!

Same night tour as the day but in the dark! They even changed some of the "facts" during the tour, gave different history for the zoo on the day tour to the night. I liked the light display at wafi but could have caught the metro return for 12 Dihrim ($4) and show is every 30 min after dark!

Ditched the night tour bus for the metro

Watched the light show which was worth seeing but could not do another minute on the bus, so buggered off the tour bus and jumped on the metro, more comfy quieter and more room and quicker to get back to the hotel!!

Butter chicken, small rice large drink and nann bread for 40 dirham about $13 Aussie.

More food

Waiting for the Dubai city night tour decided to eat again, I need to find a new hobby, food you wait, you eat and this is what I'm doing to fill in time while waiting for tours, transport, hotel rooms really for everything!

The Dubai metro

So there are 2 lines red and green and u still had to ask for help! Very clean, cool great aircon, Vline could learn a two or three! I'm getting used to being stared at, I'm a tad whiter than just about everyone here! I'm off to my night tour, the shopping malls stay open until midnight so tempted to go for a bit of a look around after the tour, have a 5am pick up for transfer to airport, better not stay out too late!

Pool time

What a great way to have some down time, at the pool, have had a swim, now relaxing under an umbrella, of coarse as its 40 plus degrees, think I'll order a vodka lime and soda before getting ready for tonight's tour.

So you think you can name all the wheat products, there are so many breakfast options hard to know where to start first.

Breakfast a great way to start the day.

Buffet breaky, is the best thing and includes sliced bread, this is the second plate, first was hummus dip, crackers, olives, fetta and a roll, just because I could! Now the English breakfast, then might look at fruit and porridge and loads if coffee.

Dinner at the hotel, fabulous room, with rich colors high ceilings, food was good but not the bomb!

The accomodation has been the perfect way to spend a stopover, has all the essentials and some extras, bed is comfy, pillows are great, i was able to have a bath and watched TV at the same time!

Looking forward to some pool time and relax after a big day touring around in the heat of the middle east.

Dubai has so much to offer with the mix of the old and very new, so much on a grand scale, shopping is a must with the many malls and no tax!!

So KFC in the sun! It's hot here really hot! 40 plus today and July & August will get to 50 degrees. There is cafeteria style food outlets next to the Dubai creek and it's all open eating style. You would not need to cook the chicken, 5 min out in this heat and bam the chicken is done!

Have arrived in Dubai ! Omg it's a big place, airport is huge, it's hot but not unbearable enough breaks with sitcom everywhere, it's such a new city with more new buildings underway. Looking forward at seeing the hotel and getting into holiday mode!

Only hours to go and I'm on a big jet plane!

  

WOW.... Its really happening.

I'm counting down hours until i leave, not days!
Its real I'm leaving and going on this amazing adventure.

I have updated the blog to include travel pages, i have packed, unpacked and repacked.
I have check all bills paid and enough bread and milk for Ross and the kids to live off, he he he.
I have photocopied every document possible, packed way to many supplies (apparent must haves?!?!), if anything happens i will survive better than Bear Grylls in the Sahara.

I have googled the world and looked at and researched every possible tourist attraction.

I think now all i can do is sit back play UNO with the kids for the next 3 hours and get ready to travel. 

Netherlands

How cute are these kids in there clogs! Looking forwards to learning more about the Dutch history, dikes, windmills and tulips. Will be there from the 9th July!

Dubai, tough start to the holiday!

Looking forward to having a relaxing start to a holiday of a lifetime, see the sites of Dubai, be wowed by the size of the malls, souk gold and a dip in the pool. Arrive Tuesday 26th June, three nights at the movenpick hotel, with a hop on and hop off tour, to ensure I miss nothing.
